The founding partner of Cass Associates, in 1983, Richard has extensive and varied experience as an architect, landscape architect, masterplanner and urban designer, coupled with a thorough knowledge of development strategy and the planning system. He has been responsible for the management and delivery of numerous complex, large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects and has been a leading advocate and practitioner of environmentally sustainable design over many years.

A partner at Cass Associates since 1998, Graham has over 24 years in planning practice in both the private and public sectors, including eight years in a senior role at the Merseyside Development Corporation. Specialising in large regeneration projects for major clients, Graham has particular expertise in leading multi-disciplinary teams charged with the planning, progress, management and implementation of complex projects.

Following six years in the public sector, where he gained experience of all aspects of statutory development planning, Peter joined Cass Associates in 2003 and is responsible for project managing professional teams and negotiating consents for a wide-range of developments, in particular those combining new development and urban greenspace. Clients include multi-national landowners, volume house builders, private developers, voluntary organisations and local authorities.

Richard leads the architectural and urban design team at Cass Associates. He has over 20 years experience in private practice in the UK and overseas. He manages projects from inception through to completion and post-completion assessment and has a clear understanding of the requirements and priorities of both clients and contractors. Richard has been responsible for a diverse range of projects in different sectors including large-scale masterplanning schemes, commercial office and head quarters buildings, retail, industrial, residential and healthcare developments. Richard has particular interest in sustainable design and has been responsible for a number of schemes achieving highly-rated BREEAM assessments.

Kate has extensive experience in all aspects of landscape design and management. She has worked on many large-scale, complex landscape projects with multi-disciplinary teams. She has managed the design and implementation process of both large and small landscape projects and is competent at carrying out feasibility studies, masterplanning, landscape and visual assessments, detailed design, native planting, woodland and landscape management plans and negotiations.

Since joining Cass Associates in 1989 Mark has been responsible for a wide range of projects including housing and specialist residential facilities, leisure and tourism, transport, education and commercial developments. This has involved urban design and regeneration in environments as diverse as historic town centres and rundown industrial and suburban housing estates. Mark has also developed a deep understanding and holistic approach to sustainable design and has completed several low carbon, zero energy buildings.

David Hackett

A multi-qualified professional and leader of the Cass Associates ecology team, David has gained significant experience in the public and private sector over the past 20 years, including landscape design and implementation, ecological and landscape assessments and project management. He has particular expertise in brownfield regeneration including habitat design, mitigation and management and the creation and management of topsoils.

David Wake

David Wake joined Cass Associates in 1983, having spent 20 years in mining, the construction industry, derelict land reclamation and landscape consultancy, both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Gary Williams

Gary began his career in Town and Country planning within local government gaining experience in development control, policy development, community consultation and urban regeneration. Since leaving to join the private sector he has worked with project teams on the assembly and submission of major planning applications, specialising in large-scale strategic development and environmental impact assessments.

Shivram Somasundram

Shivram became a landscape architect following an earlier qualification in architecture and has experience of practice both in the UK and India. He has taken charge of projects including site masterplanning, conservation area design, nature reserves and brownfield regeneration. Shivram has also designed special landscape elements such as water features and sculptures. His expertise includes design detailing, site co-ordination and client liaison.

Daniel Hamer

Daniel came to planning following the completion of a postgraduate degree at the University of Liverpool and gained chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2008. He is responsible for the development and submission of planning application packages, development feasibility appraisals, community engagement events, development briefs and written representations on Local Development Framework documents and planning rebuttal studies.

Bing Cong

A dual qualified landscape architect and graphic designer, Bing has worked on a variety of masterplanning, landscape design and public realm projects in the UK and China. She has specialist expertise in 3D modelling, photomontage and the production of exhibition material for public exhibition and has worked on a number of large brownfield regeneration projects for the practice.

Andrew Wright

Having worked at Cass Associates throughout his studies at the University of Liverpool, Andrew is an established member of the architectural team at Cass Associates and has undertaken site appraisals, conceptual and detailed design as well as liaison with clients, contractors and local authorities.

Sara Williams

Technical Manager

Sara is a highly experienced graphics and CAD technician and acts as Technical Manager for the practice, taking responsibility for all technical and IT related issues including software and hardware management. In addition she provides graphics and CAD support to the professional teams and has extensive experience of the preparation of presentation materials for public consultation exercises.

Kathryn Alden

Administration Manager

Diploma of Education Public Service Management

Kathryn joined Cass Associates in 2004 after finishing a business degree at Liverpool John Moores University. Her responsibilities within the office include personnel and human resources, health and safety, day to day management of the office, production of key documents and presentations, including tenders and support to the technical teams and Partners.

Jeanette Storey

Finance Administrator

Jeanette is the Financial Administrator at Cass Associates with responsibility for invoicing and credit control, accounts, fee agreements and letters of appointment, job costing etc, production of financial reports and liaison with auditors.
