The quality of urban greenspace is a good barometer of the health of a community. It also has a marked effect on property values. Cass Associates has wide experience in the planning, design and management of urban greenspace, and has successfully implemented a large number of projects in many parts of the UK and abroad. This experience includes:

  • Brownfield regeneration projects, including the pioneering of hybrid ‘multi-functional’ landscapes where new greenspace makes a significant contribution to both technical performance and development potential.
  • Housing development and renewal, where new and improved greenspace forms an
integral part of the planning and masterplanning process, and makes a major contribution
to enhancing land and property values.
  • Community based projects.
  • The design of new urban greenspaces, including parks and both formal and informal landscapes.
  • Greenspace corridors, such as river valleys, coasts, canals, roads and railways.

As in much of the work of the Practice, these themes are frequently woven together. We are able to deliver an integrated, broadly based and efficient professional response, which includes planners, landscape designers, ecologists and project managers. The quality of this experience is reflected in the appointment of Richard Cass to the CABE Space Advisory Panel.
