Buckshaw
Village, Lancashire
This 324ha site comprised derelict munitions buildings and substantial magazines within a mature but contaminated landscape. Cass Associates' main role has involved co-ordinating and managing this large and very diverse project, establishing the framework for the development of a new urban village. Communicating with a wide range of consultees (including local residents, local authorities and English Partnerships), the Practice has designed a mixed development within a setting of public open spaces and road / footpath / cycleway corridors, including the development of a SUDS drainage scheme.
