Infrastructure Development
BAE Systems Woodford
A transition plan for future business at the aerodrome identified the need for new infrastructure including the construction of a 24,000m2 new hangar building for the conversion of large aircraft. Cass Associates was responsible for all planning and design work, including the production of an Environmental Impact Assessment, an Economic Impact Assessment and Planning Justification documents. The site is a major development in the Green Belt and raised a large number of complex issues. Despite this planning permission was granted by the Secretary of State within 15 months of initial commissioning.
