Plans for a contemporary extension to a Grade II listed Victorian house in Liverpool’s Grassendale Park have been given the go-ahead by planners.
The Cass Associates’ architectural team has achieved planning and listed building consent on behalf of this private client to build a structural glass box extension to the rear of their 7-bedroom period home.
The Grade II listed property sits in a Conservation Area overlooking the River Mersey and the application required extensive pre-application discussions with the local Conservation Officer.
The clients were keen to retain their home’s period features but wanted to open up their kitchen to create a light and airy design space overlooking their garden. They were also keen to ensure that the remodeling project also included energy conserving measures which Cass have incorporated as an integral part of the design.
Cass’ Landscape Architects are also working on proposals for external and tree works.
