Permission Granted for Ditto Music ‘Drop Box’ Cafe in Liverpool

Planning Permission Ditto Coffee Liverpool Baltic Triangle

Cass Associates have secured full planning permission for Ditto Coffee to open the first music ‘drop box’ cafe in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

Ditto Coffee is a new first-of-its-kind coffee shop launched in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, created by the owners of Ditto Music – an independent music distribution company with a long history of helping independent artists kick-start their careers.

As well as offering a place to relax and sample unique coffee blends, hand-crafted with the help of local artisans Neighbourhood Liverpool, Ditto Coffee provides a place for aspiring musicians to showcase their music with the chance to be considered for an exclusive record label services deal by one of the world’s largest independent music distributors. Each week, Live Music Fridays will feature performances from local independent artists, as well as offering the chance for musicians to network with industry professionals and sell their merchandise. Ditto Coffee will also aim to encourage and promote Liverpool’s music scene, with a wall of fame featuring  upcoming artists and past performers.

Since it was founded by brothers Matt and Lee Parsons in 2005, Ditto Music itself has grown into a global music industry force, with more than 20 offices internationally. Ditto is renowned for having engineered the first unsigned single release to break into the UK Top 40 and has worked with music icons including Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith & Royal Blood during the early stages of their careers. The company currently works with major independent artists including Chance the Rapper, Yxng Bane, Dodie & AJ Tracey. Furthermore, Ditto’s unique product Record Label In A Box won the Merseyside Innovation Award back in 2016 and last year the company was included on The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list.

The inspiration for Ditto Coffee came from the community spirit and passion found in abundance across coffee and music cultures, alongside a love of great-tasting blends from around the globe. Taking inspiration particularly from the ‘hole in the wall’ coffee culture of Melbourne, where Ditto Music’s third international office was opened, Ditto Coffee prides itself on delivering a distinctive, high quality blend, and serving the perfect cup every time. Their retail coffee is now available to purchase in store and on their website. Artists can ‘drop off’ their music at Ditto Coffee located on Jamaica Street in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

Cass Associates continue to provide planning and architecture services as Ditto Coffee expands to new premises.
