Redevelopment of historic Grade 2 listed Calderstones Mansion House into a community visitor centre and an international centre for reading.
- Our first project was to transform a Grade II listed former barn and stable block into a landmark children’s centre, ‘The Story Barn’, including a series of a multi-functional activity and play spaces to provide an immersive, interactive and educational environment for the promotion of reading.
- Following a successful bid for HLF Stage 2 grant funding, we then achieved planning and listed building consent to transform the Mansion House into the HQ, training and conference centre of The Reader Organisation.
- Further projects included new cafe, a scheme to convert the former coach house for residential use and masterplan for the surrounding public park.
